You will be missed

My heart just broke. I just found out through Allison that John Ritter died. He is one of my all time favorite comedic actors ever. Not to mention the voice of Clifford the Big Red Dog. I am very, very saddened by this.

We also lost Johnny Cash as well. What a sad, sad day.

If you’ll excuse me, I think I may just go have a little cry.

Oh sure, it may seem silly to mourn the death of someone you only knew from a television show or a movie, but so what. John Ritter was one of my earliest crushes. I wanted him to be my roommate. I would search out movies or shows he was in just to watch him. Sure it started as a girl crush, but became a true appreciation of his comedy. And from all accounts, he just seemed such a nice man. I have yet to read anything to the contrary. He was just so very young. 54?!! That is way to young to die. Having a father who has had 3 heart attacks and survived and has a decade on this young man, it just hits too close to home. He shouldn’t be taken this early.

My favorite “I will never tell anyone I watch this let alone own it” complete chic flick movie is “Heartbeat” by Danielle Steele that stars John Ritter. All that did was take my girl crush and remember why I had it in the first place. I am sad for his family. For his children. For his baby girl who is so young (5?) and will not have the joy of having her father to guide her in her life. For his young wife who has to wake up every day without him. Of course I am saddened by the loss of the actor, but I am saddened by the loss of this family’s father and husband.

You will be missed, Mr Ritter.

Come and knock on our door
We’ve been waiting for you
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his
Three’s company, too!

Come and dance on our floor
Take a step that is new
We’ve a loveable space that needs your face
Three’s company, too!

You’ll see that life is a ball again and
laughter is callin’ for you
Down at our rendezvous,
Three’s company, too!
