Choke on this joke, buddy

I am not a fan of April Fool’s Day. Nope. Hate it. It is just a day to allow anyone to be blatant liars and celebrate it. A day where anyone can be cruel in the name of a joke. I just don’t like it.

I did, however, decide to play one on my husband. I thought it would be funny to leave one of these out with it saying this. (And yes, I do have one. And yes, it is old. Thankyougodinheavenforlettingitnotbecurrent.) But, after seeing it, and the ensuing panic attack it caused me (knowing it was just a joke and not real) and the fact that it made me want to drop to the ground into the fetal position, rocking back and forth sucking my thumb, I figured it wouldn’t go over very well with him either. I mean, sure it would be funny the first 2 seconds while he absorbed what he saw, but then, after the heart attack, collapse and impending mental breakdown, I wouldn’t be laughing anymore.

Like I said, some jokes aren’t funny. Especially when I remembered a good friend of mine who pulled that one. How did it go over for her? Well, let’s just say that the joke was on her when she found out a couple of weeks later she actually was pregnant. Nope. No such joking here.

Maybe I should tell him that the house sold for more than we were asking. That would be a great one to backfire on me.
