My Life is a Country Western Song

My Life is a Country Western Song

Yes, my life appears to be a country western song.  I start my chorus by getting sick, then I got dizzy, fell down the stairs and broke my shoulder, and now now my dog ran away.  I would say that on the scale of 1-10, my last 7 days are like about a 2.  I never think it can’t get worse, that’s why it is not a 1.  Actually, if I could get Mrs. Genuine to go into labor while my arm is in this sling and I have just taken my pain medication, that could just be the icing.

Happy Father’s Day

Have a great father’s day everyone.  Today I was allowed to sleep as long as I wanted.  I was taken to my favorite BBQ place for lunch, and then I had a nap.  It really gets no better than that!

The Sound of Silence

The Sound of Silence

I was wondering if the blog world comes to a halt on the weekends.  I would think that more blog reading is done on Saturday and Sunday than on other days of the week when people are supposed to be working.  I guess this is not so given the fact that I average nearly 200 hits per day, and today at the time of this post , I have about 62.  I wonder if bloggers are only prolific at there jobs?  If you’re a lurker here, leave a “hello” for Jenn for when she returns.  Of course, if you want I could pimp my site a bit too.  Go over to Genuine and and tell me how great of a marketing genius pathetic I am for asking you to go there!

Where is Mrs. G anyway?  I thought she was blogging here.  Well, I know we only have one computer in our house and I growl each time she gets close to the keyboard, but hey c’mon Mommy where’s the posts?

Your Morning Coffee

Your Morning Coffee

Since this site’s title is all about coffee and the drinking of coffee, pull up a chair and have a cup with me.  Here are a few things that you might have missed when watching that morning coffee drip into your pot.

*If you screamed continuously for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would produce enough energy to heat one cup of coffee.  (Think of that each time you scream at those ankle biters)

*The most severe punishment for drinking coffee was being sewn into a leather bag and tossed alive into the sea.

*The name coffee comes from the Arabic word qahwah, meaning wine, and not from the town of Kaffa, in Ethiopia (Abyssinia), as many writers have supposed.

*Coffee has been used as a beverage for about 700 years.

Let your mind wander while sipping that last cup…….wait a tic…….do we ever really finish our last cup?
